Is responsible to manage assigned orders (projects), and to deliver on contractual commitments made to our Customers;
Set priorities with the cross-functional team including Engineering, Purchasing, Documentation and Project Administration, under scope of his/her responsibility;
Is the internal and external primary point of contact for all assigned projects.
Ensures that a high level of customer focus is maintained across the assigned team and throughout the organization as it relates to the assigned projects;
Clearly communicates with team members and Senior Management with regards to projects status and risks;
Maintains a strong project monitoring process and metrics to ensure that orders meet their delivery and budget targets;
Looks for improvement of processes effectiveness being used to facilitate seamless transition of orders through their various phases;
Cradle to grave responsibility for all orders assigned, including post mortems when required to capture areas for improvement and success.
Provide direction and leadership to the personnel assigned to orders;
Interact professionally with Customers, counterparts and teammates;
Effectively communicate with all stakeholders;
Lead kickoff meetings to ensure scope and schedule concurrence from all stakeholders from orders onset;
Ensure adherence to purchase orders requirements while mitigating risk to the company. Recommend/ implement mitigation strategies as needed;
Responsible for scope change management;
Responsible for tracking on-time delivery of orders with front-end team and Production;
Highlight interdependencies of multiple projects and resolve potential conflicts within the Team and the Regional Office(s) concerned;
Ensure project documentation is submitted on time to Customers;
Ensure that recovery meetings are held timely and drive issues to resolution;
Ensure strict adherence to processes and procedures in place;
Responsible for escalation of issues in a timely manner if/when required;
Other project or departmental duties as assigned.
Qualifications - preferred applicants will possess:
University degree in a technical field (Mechanical Engineering preferred). Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
2 to 5 years of project management experience in a rigorous and detailed-oriented environment.
Strong understanding of Project Management methodologies preferably with experience in a Lean environment;
Knowledge and understanding of API 6A and 17D is an asset;
PMP certification is an asset
Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with equal effectiveness at all levels of organizations, internally and externally;
Strong technical, business and commercial acumen;
Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes (oil & gas industry preferred);
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
Able to provide project leadership, coordination, guidance and drive issues to resolution in a matrix environment;
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment;
Ability to respond to frequent pressure to meet deadlines;
Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously;
Capable of working with minimal supervision;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and MS Project;
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
